Introducing The Lucky Draw Project

The Lucky Draw Project front page
I’m so excited to finally reveal a project that I have been working on since August last year. It was an idea that hit me out of the blue as a way to collaborate with some truly talented artists and illustrators, you know, in hopes that some of their amazing talent will rub off on me. So I drafted a long winded email and sent it of to illustrators whose work I admired, some whom I knew and considered friends, others I’d never met (and probably had never heard of me), and then held my breath.
To my delight and surprise, responses were overwhelmingly positive, it turns out creative folks love a collaborative project.

So with out further adieu, I introduce… The Lucky Draw Project.
It’s a collection of printable colouring pages each illustrated by a different Australian artist available every couple of weeks right in your in-box. Over time you can collate them into your own colouring book, or even frame your favourites and display them in your home.

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come.

Want to join? The good news is it’s free, and if you are already on the My Poppet mailing list you will start receiving your colouring pages shortly.
If you aren’t already on the mailing list why not sign up now?

It doesn’t matter when you sign up, you won’t miss out on any of the pages as they are scheduled to be delivered every fortnight for as long as you stay on the mailing list. So far there are six months worth of colouring pages available, but more will continue to be added as new illustrators contribute to the project. Every illustration will be accompanied by information on the artist and a link to their website/store. Please support them by visiting their link.

This project is a special gift to you, to thank you for being part of the My Poppet community. It’s exclusive to email subscribers, so if your friends would like to join the fun, encourage them to join the mailing list too.

Framed artwork The Lucky Draw Project
The first colouring page available will be this beautiful piece by Madeleine Stamer, I loved it so much that I immediately framed it before I could get my coloured pencils out. I will print out another copy for colouring in I think. I’m honored to call Madeleine a friend and have several of her limited edition prints already gracing my walls

In the coming months, and with the artists permission of course, I will make some projects inspired by the colouring pages.

So it’s time to love your in-box again, The Lucky Draw Project is coming to town!

such a lovely great brilliant and cool idea. like this, In the Netherlands you can buy books to colour drawings for grown ups. And when i’m out of energy i love to colour, mostly my own drawings.
But it calm you down really.!!! I never had thought of that.
When i visited my little niece i came up with the idea to colour designs in her drawings and she loved it.
I had to laughted when i heard the following story of my sis, she told me her daughter had a big fight with her fave friend because she didn’t coloured it right and straight.LOL My niece didn’t stopped with it, because she always wanted to look like me, an artist.
She told me because i don’t have to learn many more things.LOL She didn’t understood that i really had to study hard at the art academy. I have showed her many time my studing books but only when she became much older she understood that my school was like others much books to read and learn, not what she would have thought at all.XD
So this is a fun great lovely project, thank you for starting it.
I’m an comic and cartoon artist myself as well , so often i colouring my own drawings only at the computer oftenly. But… lately my creative therapist had given me a brilliant gift. Every fourteen days she will give me in my drawing book a copy of a story. I don’t know how the story is going or will went. but… that’s the freedom of it, I have just one silly funny page which must inspirated me.
Because of my bad moving to my new city and home, i still can’t use my big computer and printer.
I’m out of a tool that the computer needs, so i must draw and colouring my own drawing by hand.
it’s okay. i like it, it works slower then on the computer but i like this methode as well.
so thank you for the sharing and the fun great project.

Love the last one with of draw your own family portret. I think i will use this one for a wall i have.
I think to use for that small wall this fun design on it. the small wall, which isn’t to use for me, it’s the wall of the domotica is installed.
I think to paint on it selfmade chalckboard paint in white.
And then to draw with chalk those portrets.

I would really love to try this project, I am from Denmark and I have no connection with my grandchildren so I thought why not let the inner child get out and try this? .. thihi… I am good now though.. I live in Copenhagen and I see much of the city life but wish to have a little cottage on the country site if I could.
    It is a splendid idea.

    Kind regards
    Mariane

I just joined your site and what a wonderful surprise to find such a great project! I’m sure I will have to make 2 copies of all of them one for me and one for my granddaughter so we can compare via Skype, she lives across Texas or 10 hours away so it will be fun to do together!!
