Yes, it’s that time of year again when we women are forced to tolerate well meaning attempts by our partners, friends and work colleagues to ‘Grow a Mo’ for Movember. I’m afraid there’s no getting around it ladies, we have a month of patchy facial hair ahead of us. But it’s all for a worthy cause, our fathers, brothers and friends face a health crisis that isn’t being talked about, men are dying too young.
But Cintia, why are you talking about men’s health when you’re a lady? Well it turns out that some of my best friends are men, and I want them to live healthier, happier and longer lives. I’ve seen some of them struggle with physical and mental health issues when they needn’t have, and as a community we need to we encourage men to become more aware of their health and wellbeing.
Just because we can’t ‘grow a Mo’ doesn’t mean we can’t get involved in Movember, in fact, we can raise funds for men’s health and improve our own health too by getting involved in the MOVEmber MOVE challenge.

Compete in a big event like a marathon, bike ride or open water swim. Use MOVEmber to kick start your training.
Challenge yourself to do something that is out of your comfort zone. Face your fear of heights and learn to rock climb, take a scuba diving class or even learn to surf. It’s a great opportunity to challenge yourself to try something new.
Make it social and get moving with family and friends. Start a work sports team, join a dance class with some girl friends, get outdoors with the kids and play a game of chasey.
Set yourself a goal and tell everyone you know. Not only does this make it easier for you to stick to your challenge, but also by getting friends and family to donate you’ll help raise funds to contribute to over 1,200 men’s health projects around the world.
