Easy Washi Tape iPad Makeover

This quick and easy iPad Makeover can transform the look of your tablet (and cover up a few disasters), when you change your mind or the tape looks a little shabby, just change it over for a whole new look.

A little while ago I had a accident which inspired this ingeniously simple makeover! My iPad slipped off a shelf and got smashed up good. It was my own fault, so no one to yell at, don’t you hate that? Anyway it still worked fine and had one major crack across the screen which wasn’t too noticeable, but the area around the home button was almost disintegrated and the glass was splintering away. Not ideal and a little dangerous. I couldn’t really justify $150 to replace the screen so it was Washi Tape to the rescue. Is there anything washi tape can’t do?

How to duisguise cracked ipad screen
You will need:
iPad or tablet
Washi tape
Scalpel or sharp craft blade
Make over your ipad with some washi tape, Ideal if you crack the glass
How to:
Stick tape around the edges of the screen, overlap at corners.
Leave a little gap for front facing camera.
With your knife carefully trim tape away from corners and around home button.

Now that’s a big improvement! The worst of the smashed up glass is safely covered so no glass splintered fingers here. The washi tape holds up quite well, this is the second makeover, the first lasted several months before the corners started lifting.

So if you feel like a colourful change, get the washi tape out.

When you lifted off the tale to do the second makeover, did it lift any of the glass in the shattered area off?
