I had the fabric (also Ikea) and the fringe was an Op-shop find.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\">You will need:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\">Materials<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\">A cushion insert or pillow<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\">2 squares of fabric cut to the size of the pillow plus 1cm seam allowance<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\">fringe<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\"><br \/>\n1.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\"> Pin the fringe on the right side of the fabric, fringe facing in. Take extra care around corners to keep fringes neat so they don&#8217;t get stitched into seam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\">2.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\"> Lay second piece of fabric on top of the fringe, right side in, like a sandwich. Pin to place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\">3.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\"> Sew around edge with a 1cm seam allowance, leave about a 30cm opening on one side for turning and stuffing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\">2a.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\"> <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">(short cut) I was a bit lazy with the second cushion and didn&#8217;t do the pinning, I just sandwiched the two pieces and fringe as I went along&#8230;I&#8217;d only recommend this technique for more confident sewers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\">4.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\"> Turn inside out and insert cushion<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\">5.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\"> Pin opening closed, taking special care to keep the edges straight and fringe neat<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: trebuchet ms;\">6a &amp; 6b.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\"> Either <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">machine stitch<\/span> or hand stitch opening closed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms;\">You&#8217;re done!<\/span><\/p>\n<div>www.mypoppet.com.au<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a tutorial I wrote for my other (much neglected) blog MADE OF CLOTH, I thought it would be nice to share it again in case you missed it.
