It&#8217;s an idea that came to me whilst I was in the process of tidying up my sewing space.<\/p>\n<p>I tend to keep all my fabric scraps &#8216;just in case&#8217; and all those really long thin pieces were tangling together and making a big mess.<\/p>\n<p>After doing a bit of online research on rope making, I found this video showing how to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TAD1w8NUeic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hand twist rope from tree bark<\/a>, so I&#8217;ve used the same technique with fabric scraps to make fabric string, and it works a treat.<\/p>\n<div id=\"tq8klb8ibc0htrjbga1j\" data-volume=\"70\" data-ratio=\"16:9\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/video.mediavine.com\/videos\/tq8klb8ibc0htrjbga1j.js\" async=\"\" data-noptimize=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve made a video tutorial showing you how to make twine rope, to go with the instructions.<\/p>\n<p>Using up scrap material is my favourite thing to do and this method can easily be adapted to make paper twine or yarn rope. Once you learn this basic method for how to make twine, you can really use any materials you have at hand.<\/p>\n<h2>You will need:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Lots of scrap fabric strips in assorted lengths (max 1&#8243; wide). The best twine material is a light weight woven cotton, or poly-cotton blend fabric. Jersey and stretch fabric can be used but doesn&#8217;t work as well.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2N4SVzp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Scissors &#8211; These are my favourite<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Something to wind your fabric twine on to &#8211; I&#8217;m sure you could find a million uses for it, I&#8217;ve made a project that I&#8217;ll share with you soon.
