Today I&#8217;m going to show you how to make a round insert to fit your pillow perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>It is so easy to do even with the most basic of sewing skills, it literally took me about 15 minutes!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve just used an old piece of white sheet for my fabric, anything fairly robust will do. Look around in your cupboards, you probably have something suitable laying around.<\/p>\n<p>You can use this technique to make more colourful pillows if you choose fun printed fabrics<\/p>\n<h2>You will need:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Pillow cover (or final dimensions)<\/li>\n<li>Fabric, 2 x pieces larger than your pillow cover<\/li>\n<li>Stuffing of your choice<\/li>\n<li>Measuring tape<\/li>\n<li>Pencil<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Sewing machine<\/li>\n<li>General sewing supplies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18354 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/measure.jpg\" alt=\"measure cover finished size\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/measure.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/measure-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/measure-200x150.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>1. Measure your pillow cover diameter, make sure knitted\/crocheted covers have been <a title=\"Carnivale Cushion: Crochet-Along Part 4\" href=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/2014\/06\/carnivale-cushion-crochet-along-part-4.html\">blocked<\/a> to final shape.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18352 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/mark-circle.jpg\" alt=\"mark diameter on fabric \" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/mark-circle.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/mark-circle-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/mark-circle-200x150.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. Take your 2 pieces of fabric larger than the cover and fold into quarters. Measuring from the center mark the length of <strong>half the diameter plus seam allowance<\/strong> (about 1cm or 1\/2 inch). Work around in an arc marking at regular intervals.<\/p>\n<p>I used a 17cm radius for this insert.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18353 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/marked-circle.jpg\" alt=\"mark fabric with pencil\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/marked-circle.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/marked-circle-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/marked-circle-200x150.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Your marks should indicate the curve accurately. Stuff insert to desired fullness.
