It was not hard to make and took us a couple of leisurely afternoons. This Tee Pee is a fun weekend project that can be used either indoors on a rainy day, or in the back yard when the sun is out. We&#8217;ve made it with an old bed sheet to save money on fabric.<br \/>\nThis is a very detailed tutorial so this project will stretch over two posts.<\/p>\n<p>Part 1 covers the making of the frame<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/2012\/04\/how-to-diy-tee-pee-tent-part-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Part 2 explains how to make the outer covering.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So lets get started<\/p>\n<h2>For Part 1 you will need<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>5x 18mm diam wooden dowels 180cm long (about 71&#8243;) (hardware store can usually cut these to size for you)<\/li>\n<li>power drill<\/li>\n<li>5mm drill bit<\/li>\n<li>5mm thick cotton rope bundle, min length 1m (about 1 yard)<\/li>\n<li>measuring tape<\/li>\n<li>pencil<\/li>\n<li>sticky tape<\/li>\n<li>sandpaper (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>For Part 2 you will need:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>1x queen size bed sheet<\/li>\n<li>Sewing machine and general sewing supplies<\/li>\n<li>3m bias tape for trims and ties<\/li>\n<li>measuring tape (in inches)<\/li>\n<li>fabric marker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56456\" src=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/teepee1.jpg\" alt=\"How to make a Tee Pee Part 1 mypoppet.com.au\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/teepee1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/teepee1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/teepee1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/teepee1-330x330.jpg 330w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/teepee1-460x460.jpg 460w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>How to:<\/h2>\n<p>Gather your supplies and clear a suitable work area for using your power drill.
