If you’ve had a chance to spy the latest issue of Frankie magazine, you would have seen their latest collaboration with 10 talented ladies to transform an ordinary pair of socks into something worth kicking up your heels for. The Sock Project aims to raise funds for the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation<\/a> by auctioning off the wearable works of art in a special 10-day sock charity auction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fairy Bread Socks by Cintia Gonzalez (that’s me!)<\/p><\/div>\n

I was thrilled to take part alongside some really awesome crafters, designers and artists, and created a pair of Fairy Bread socks. They were inspired by the fact that I was in the midst of organising Emma’s birthday party at the time, and also influenced by the popularity of my Fairy Bread Coin Purse tutorial<\/a>. All the 100’s & 1000’s sprinkles are tiny coloured glass beads which are individually hand stitched. It took about 12 solid hours of stitching just to make the little patches. I’ll be sharing a tutorial soon.<\/p>\n
