Just because I&#8217;m craft inclined doesn&#8217;t mean that every attempt at a project turns out perfectly first time around. I was getting really stressed out, there was a lot of cursing too.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I turned to google &#8211; Question <strong>&#8220;Wet Felting, what am I going wrong?&#8221;<\/strong> and found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ydfz8JG_3UA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this video<\/a> which really helped.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mistake number 1<\/strong> &#8211; not soaking the felt enough to ensure it was thoroughly saturated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mistake number 2<\/strong> &#8211; being way too aggressive and pulling the fibres apart before they have had a chance to really mesh. I put on gloves about half way through but it was difficult to feel the fibre through the gloves and water got in anyway. You can see on the before the edges of the colours were much crisper, but unfortunately the felt geodes were falling apart. I&#8217;ve had enough of balls for the moment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Needle felting or wet felting?<\/strong> I still prefer the control of needle felting and it&#8217;s much gentler on my poor hands, but the surprise aspect of wet felting is entertaining.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about the mess?<\/strong> Yes there was A LOT of water, everywhere.
