Apart from suffering with terrible hay fever at this time of year due to all the pollen floating around, I really love the longer days, bright green foliage and flowers everywhere. It really puts a &#8216;spring&#8217; back into my step.<\/p>\n<p>In Melbourne Spring time is carnival season; nearly every school has a Spring Fair and the Spring Racing Carnival has everyone talking about hats and frocks. These <strong>Ribbon Rosette Brooches<\/strong> were inspired by both vintage prize ribbons that you may have won as a fair prize in the olden days, and vintage equestrian prize ribbons.<\/p>\n<p>Make one to brighten up an outfit, or as a gift for a friend that is No.1 in your eyes. I\u2019ve used a combination of both.<br \/>\nWrap the narrow ribbon around a pencil to form a tight spiral. To prevent fraying apply the tiniest amount of glue to the ribbon edges.<br \/>\nAttach brooch backing to the top back of your brooch.
