Made with a couple of pieces of recycled cardboard, it&#8217;s an inexpensive and compact toy which is ideal for travel or fun at home.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mv-video-target mv-video-id-fgahvi8dtonwpwcgfm6l\" data-video-id=\"fgahvi8dtonwpwcgfm6l\" data-volume=\"70\" data-ratio=\"16:9\"><\/div>\n<p>You&#8217;ve probably got every thing you need to make this laying about the house. Gather some fabric scraps, ribbons and trim remnants in a zip-lock bag, and you&#8217;ve got some portable entertainment.<\/p>\n<h2>You will need:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>2 x pieces of corrugated or pressed cardboard cut to approx 6&#215;12 in<\/li>\n<li>cutting mat<\/li>\n<li>pencil<\/li>\n<li>scissors<\/li>\n<li>craft blades (careful these are sharp)<\/li>\n<li>Packing or masking tape<\/li>\n<li>paper for template<\/li>\n<li>paint to decorate<\/li>\n<li>fabric scraps and trims<\/li>\n<li>glue (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to:<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56642\" src=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/dressinggirl1a.jpg\" alt=\"How to make a cardboard dressing girl game mypoppet.com.au\" width=\"682\" height=\"1023\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/dressinggirl1a.jpg 682w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/dressinggirl1a-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/dressinggirl1a-600x900.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/dressinggirl1a-330x495.jpg 330w, https:\/\/mypoppet.com.au\/makes\/mp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/dressinggirl1a-307x460.jpg 307w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>1. Sketch out a body shape on a piece of scrap paper, fold in half to make sure its symmetrical and cut out. Ideally it should fit inside the cardboard with plenty of space all around.<\/p>\n<p>2. Transfer the body shape onto the card and feel free to use your creative flair to draw a head, face etc&#8230;draw a girl or boy, it&#8217;s up to you. Then CAREFULLY cut out the body shape, with a craft knife, where the clothing will be. Leave hands, head and feet. If the cardboard on the pointy bits between the legs and under the arms is lifting, add a dab of glue (optional).<\/p>\n<p>3. Paint however you fancy.<\/p>\n<p>4. Tape around the edges to neaten. I&#8217;ve used some pretty packing tape I picked up in japan, but plain masking tape would be fine. Use the tape to make a hinge on the top.<\/p>\n<p>6. Open and reinforce the hinge with tape underneath.<\/p>\n<p>7. All done, but your girl is nude!!<\/p>\n<p>8. Lay some fabric scraps between the top and bottom card and you have a pretty outfit.
