I was recently invited to preview a unique collaboration between Etsy.com and The Cullen Hotel in Melbourne. Creative duo Marsha Golemac and Brooke Holm were tasked with a world first, to takeover and transform a hotel room and create Etsy at the Cullen.

With handpicked homewares from Australia’s burgeoning Etsy community of makers, and some savvy non-permanent interior design solutions like removable vinyl films and ply wood partition walls, Golemac and Holm have created a contemporary space that uses striking colour and organic textures to maximum effect. The products, a mix of handmade and vintage homewares, have been sourced from almost 40 Etsy sellers across the country, with products from all featured sellers available at Etsy.com.

CERAMIC TOTEM SCULPTURES VANESSA BEAN SHOP
Some of my favorite pieces include these ceramic totem sculptures by Vanessa Holle, a Sydney based graphic designer with a passion for ceramics.

I also loved the hand blown glass pendant lamps by Mark Douglass, functional beauty at it’s finest.
Melbourne dusk
The views from the terrace almost stole the show, and looking at these pictures now it feels like the abstract art featured by Gemma Baldwin, took it’s colour pallet straight from the twilight sky.

For two weeks in April, guests will have the opportunity stay in the transformed junior penthouse suite.
