Dog Coats Australia buying guide

I must admit, I’m not a dog owner, but I do enjoy seeing well dressed canines on their neighborhood walks. I mean, who doesn’t love seeing a stylish dog wearing a cute dog jacket.

There is a huge selection of dog coats and rain jackets on offer these days, most of them very practical, but somewhat utilitarian in boring colours like black and green.

No shade on doggies that like a basic look, but I’m sure if they had the option, they may enjoy something a little more eye catching.

Because I love looking at pics of cute pups, I’ve gathered a selection of fun and affordable designer dog coats, perfect for Australian dogs to wear this winter.

How to measure your dog for a coat

Most good dog coat sellers, especially those that make garments to order, will have a detailed fitting chart or guide for measuring with recommended sizes to choose.

With three measurements you can find the best fit size in almost any dog coat.

  1. Body Length: measure from the base of the collar to the base of the tail to find length. This measurement will be the most helpful in measuring a dog coat.
  2. Girth: measure the widest part around your dog’s chest behind the front legs.
  3. Neck: measure around the neck, where a collar would normally sit.

Compare the measurements with those provided by the sellers. Always go the next size up if your dog is in between sizes.
