It’s official, fairies are on the way out, the hottest new trend in girls party decor and themes is the Flamingo! How do I know this? Because my 5 year old niece Eva has her finger on the pulse of what’s cool and decided on a Pink Flamingo Birthday Party this year. Pink, kitschy, feathery and fun, flamingos tick all my boxes for a fabulous party theme idea.
My sister Janet organized a rosy little party that girls of any age would adore. Thanks to her forward planning she managed to pull it together all whilst juggling 2 kids and a full time job – respect!
I took some snaps on the day and thought they were too good not to share.
She has really gone all out with the pink flamingo theme and managed it all on a modest budget by shopping ahead of time for flamingo party supplies online.

Eva’s Pink Flamingo Birthday Party
A pink tablecloth and some honeycomb decorations instantly transformed the space. Find similar honeycomb decorations here.
Fairy bread with pink sprinkles was popular choice for the kids.
These flamingo paper straws were the star of the show.
Ordinary pink cupcakes were given a flamingo theme with cute flamingo cup cake toppers, and a shop bought birthday cake was made to look feathery with the addition of fairy floss (cotton candy). Genius!
And how cute are these mini inflatable flamingo drink holders as party favours! Makes me wish I had a pool to lounge around in with a pink cocktail. My sister tells me she picked these up on Amazon AU for a couple of dollars each.
Eva is one lucky girl to have such a special party for her 5th birthday and everyone had a great time.
