Getting arrested on a Friday night may not be your idea of a good time, but I think you’ll change your mind when you hear what The National Trust of Victoria has planned.
On Friday 16 October the Old Melbourne Gaol is throwing a Gin Pop-Up bar, it’s the last for the year and this time there is a twist – for the very first time people can have an ‘arresting encounter’ on the night.
With live music, food trucks, gin cocktails and a chance to explore the Old Melbourne Gaol, it’s a fun way to experience a part of Victoria’s history. Did I mention there was gin?
The Gin Pop-Up Bar will feature cocktails made with Finsbury Platinum Gin, Black Robin Rare Gin and Gin Mare. With a gin cocktail in hand, guests will be led to the City Watch House where they will be formally charged and finger printed by the police sergeant. Afterwards they will be locked up in cells once occupied by the likes of Squizzy Taylor and Chopper Read. Fortunately they’ll have a cocktail in hand to ease the pain.
I’ll see you there, who knows, we may even be cell mates!
When: Friday 16 October 2015, 6pm to 9pm
Where: Old Melbourne Gaol, 377 Russell Street, Melbourne
How Much: $40, includes entry into the Old Melbourne Gaol and two cocktails, extra $10 for ‘Arresting Experience’.
