Friday Brunch in Style at the St Regis Dubai

Brunch St Regis

Friday Brunch is a Dubai institution, it’s the start of the weekend and anybody who’s anybody heads out eat and socialise late into the afternoon. For most of us brunch is a late breakfast, but in Dubai, brunch starts at 1pm and can go on for several hours (it should really be called Linner!)

Most Friday Brunch offerings in Dubai are a buffet style affair with free flowing food and drinks for hours and hours, after a long work week (the weekend starts on Friday here) you can understand why people love to let their hair down and indulge in a bit of gluttony, some venues have a reputation for becoming a tad debaucherous by early evening.

But the newly opened St Regis Dubai is bringing elegance and style back to Friday Brunches with their French themed restaurant, Brasserie Quartier.

St Regis Dubai - Friday Brunch

My travel companions and I were invited to brunch to try Brasserie Quartier’s modern interpretations of French cuisine, and a delightful meal it was.

The restaurant’s design nods at the Belle Époque but with a modern sensibility. I was in love with the rich emerald velvet tufted banquettes and mosaic marble floor which I just happened to co-ordinate my outfit perfectly, kismet!

Of course the wine offerings are extensive but the home-made ginger ale was a refreshing highlight and the perfect drink to start a meal with.

Our meal began with ‘Petit Plats’ to share:

My main dish was a delicious – Turbot a la Grenobloise, totally forgot to photograph it!

Of course no French meal is complete without patisserie – the deserts were a visual feast, like little works of art, the food bloggers in our group went a little bit snap happy and took ALL THE PHOTOS!

We tried their signature breakfast pastry, the raspberry croissant. Light and buttery filled with fresh raspberry sauce, it was sublime, I’ll be dreaming about that on for a long time to come – so good!
