Wow, I’m so excited to share my super tidy sewing room with you. There are no ‘before’ pictures because they were almost too shameful to post. Picture piles and piles of stuff like in that ‘hoarders’ TV show…but worse. You couldn’t even see the floor!
We moved in two years ago and I’ve never really have the time to focus on it, but thankfully the photo shoot was the motivation I needed to really get things done.
It took me the best part of 3 days to get it looking this good.
I’m really proud of myself and just love spending time in there now. Everything is organised and easy to find, so I can spend more time creating and less time searching for things.
I took a few photos after the photographer left, just to capture it at it’s tidiest…
Here are some of my favourite shots
Thanks to Pilgrim for helping me fold and colour coordinate my fabric pieces. I think she had a little too much fun!
I hope you enjoyed my sewing room tour, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thanks for stopping by.
x Cinti
Wow! That looks beautiful. I suddenly have this overwhelming urge to tidy and fold things. xx
it looks fantastic. i'm inspired to clean up this jumble of stuff i'm sitting in right now before i end up on the next episode of hoarders or 'craft hoarders'. i bet you are keen to get sewing in that tidy room!
Wow! That makes me want to sew! I love the little toy horse living with your threads.
it looks great! i'm very jealous of your perfectly folded, color coordinated fabric collection.
looks great Cinti! makes me really want to start sewing! a lovely creative space, can't wait to see what you make next!! x
How great does that look! What a whole lot of fun. Also, loving the teeny tiny little horsey that is guarding your thread there… hehe 🙂
loved the tour – i'm totally jealous!

Oh, I am in raptures at your fabric collection! And generally green with envy at your lovely sewing space. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, I envy your beautiful sewing room. Soooo full of goodness and so much SPACE.
And please tell me your sell your Mama's bias binding by the metre?! I have my eye on the blue flower one and the blue gingham… oh and the brown gingham.
Lovely and light and spacious Cinti!
Well done you!
I have been cracking along with mine, Wintertime looming and all that goes with it, but this is definitely the inspiration I need to get it finished, x
this is quite possibly heaven!
wow tidy and neat working area! I'm also struggling to keep my space as neat and clutter free as possible. I think I still need a lot of inspiration to do it. Thanks for a nice blog post! though I have to ask if you ever consider putting up a nice inspirational or happy art on your work space wall to keep you inspired and motivated? I am considering it though I wouldn't know how to choose hahah.
Great article!
the shelves of folded fabrics in neat piles of colour look wonderful, as does the whole room! i love the hookey board for scissors too. i find it so hard to keep my sewing space organised after a spring clean, one project in and it's like a tornado has hit, then you get your project complete and it seems to overwhelming to go back and tidy up again!
OoooooOOoOOooohhh's & aaaaaAAAaaaaaw's from me! I'm all inspired to tackle my work space, too, now. Will bookmark this in my brain to think of regularly as other projects lure me away again! I must make my space lovable and workable. Should I pretend a photoshoot is booked? I do do great tidy-ups for guests/visitors etc! So that kinda motivation *might* just work.
Thanking you, Kind Gentlewoman!
The room looks lovely and hopefully inspiring. I feel so envious, I have gradually lost my sewing rooms to be bedrooms and feel “homeless”. I feel this is the reason for my lack of inspiration at the moment. Seeing your wooden sewing box also brought back memories, as my mother had the same one.
Wow! What a fabulous sewing room! And a wonderful stash! I love it! I also love that your mum makes your bias binding for you! 🙂 I wish! 🙂
I love the horse in the thread box; keeping it real!
